Costume Checklist

  • Costumes will be passed out After May 1st. All students with an unpaid balance on their account (and have not previously made arrangements with Miss Kiah) will not receive their costume until their account is up to date.

  • Once you receive their costume please have your student try their costume on to check for adjustments but do not allow your child to play, eat or drink in their costume. If it gets dirty, soiled, or damaged there is not enough time to get a new one.  Please make sure your costume is wrinkle free and all alterations are done prior to dress rehearsal (straps sewn down, pants hemmed, Safety pins, etc.).

  • No jewelry should be worn on stage unless it is a part of the costume. This includes necklaces, bracelets, anklets, rings, and earrings.

HELPFUL TIPS!

  • Do not iron your costume, instead hang the costume in the bathroom while someone is taking a hot shower to steam out the wrinkles.

  • Tutus should be stored upside down, so they do not wilt. Some students will receive Tights with their costumes. Tights replace underwear & really help with privacy and hygiene issues, as well as provide a seamless appearance and provide support for older dancers. (Older dancers may wear the proper nude dance undergarments if needed).
