Dress Code 2022-23

Dancewear Order Form

1. Students should be prepared properly for class with the correct shoes, dress, and appropriate hair.  Dress code is for the student’s safety and helps us to give your student the best instruction possible. Students will need to have the required shoes for their class by the 3rd class. Please be sure to label all shoes and dance wear items with your student’s name.

----- For the student’s own safety, large jewelry is not permitted in class. This includes watches, necklaces, large bows, bracelets and dangling earrings.

2.  Our Dress Code is strictly enforced for the safety and best interest of our students.  Failure to abide by the dress code the 1st time will result in a warning. Failure to obey the 2nd time student will be asked to sit out of class. Failure to obey the 3rd time will result in a conference with the student, teacher and a parent.

3. NEW* Dancewear can now be purchased through the studio. Please stop by the front desk for a fitting or fill out an order form and email it to the studio. The studio makes a dancewear order purchase 2 times a year; once at the start of the season in August and once in January. Special orders can be made during the year but orders will be charged an additional shipping and processing fee.

COCA accepts gender-neutral dance attire in our classes. Dancers may select which option is most comfortable. Dancers should wear clothing that is form-fitting for instructors to see alignment and allows movement without restriction. Attire should provide proper coverage at all times, including through movement.

All dancers are responsible for dressing according to the correct dress codes for their class level. If the dancer does not have the correct attire, they must obtain permission from the instructor to participate or observe the class that day.

For the student’s own safety, large jewelry is not permitted in class. This includes watches, necklaces, large bows, and dangling earrings.

Appropriate shoes are required and should be worn for each class. Dance shoes are ONLY to be worn in the dance studios and not to be worn outside. Hip-hop students should have a separate pair of sneakers that are not worn outside for the dance studios.
